Challengers have reported in this past week for an average of 10 out of 14 days of less sugar so far for this month! We are well on our way to a Sugar”less” September!
I asked our challengers this week to tell me their best sugar”less” success this month. Here are a few of their responses…
“I lost two pounds last week, and I’m excited to see what will happen this Monday! Could it be that I’ve been having WAY more sugary treats than I thought?”
“Not having a Diet Drink … or coffee w/ sweet low & creamer. It’s been hard- but I have not had either in 13 days. I have also given up 2 days a week drinking Starbucks Cold Coffee drinks that have lots of sugar. Instead of 2 a week- I should just treat myself w/ 1 a month.”
“I am surprised that I do not crave sweets anymore or fast food and I am really thinking about what I eat and how it affects me. In fact…I have noticed a change in my appetite.”
“This week has been really hard! I’ve been wanting something sugary since Tuesday!!!! I have to make a conscious decision to stop and pray and dedicate each day of eating to God. Once I do this, then I refocus and think – OK, now I can wait until tomorrow. I did this on Tuesday, … felt better and thought, OK, I can make it until Thursday. THAT will be my treat day. Then Thursday got here… OK, maybe Friday will be my treat day……..Then I did it again today, and I feel like I can make it until tomorrow. “
“I feel so much better…mentally and physically. Sugar must have really done a number on me! Anyway…I am a happier person…thanks to the challenge.”
“I’ve been limiting diet sodas … It really does cut the cravings for sweets to not have a soda. I still want the bubbles and drink seltzer water. It takes some getting used to, but being motivated helps and then it starts to taste good! Now Diet Sierra Mist, my old fav, tastes too sweet! Go figure. “
“I have also started to walk and think about my exercise plan. I think the sugar was really contributing to my fatigue and lack of motivation.”
I pray that this post has been a motivation for you to consume less sugar this month even if you are not on the challenge. I won’t promise it will be easy. As a matter of fact, I will tell you up front… it’s a challenge for all of us.
Be challenged to be a success no matter what your goal!
