When I posted the Sugar”less” September Challenge last week I had a varied response from my readers. While there were a few excited and ready readers to accept the challenge…
“This is right in line with what I have already started! Love it…I started it last week, but kind of been falling off lately…I want the challenge!”
“I love challenges and it just gives me a goal to do something for myself.”
I had many more that weren’t quite as excited at the prospect but still signed up because they knew it would be good for them…
“Oh my goodness! Are you trying to kill me …? Lol. I’m in!”
“Oh dear…you know I’m in.”
Now, if you were riding the fence and were just a little afraid to commit, let me encourage you with a few of the reports I have received from challengers over this first week…
“So far we are on day 3 of doing this and noticed some things that I snacked on before like hard candy tastes a lot sweeter and I want less of them to satisfy me.”
“I have my calendar on the Refrigerator …and I put stickers on the good days (all 5 so far) … that helps me to know that I set a goal and I succeeded in it for that day – One day at a time.”
“I decided to drink water and diet green tea. Eat more fresh fruit instead of my usual fruit cups.”
“I am going super strict Monday through Friday and allowing Saturday and Sunday to be my treat days if needed. So far I’ve only used one and my treat was small, but it was all I wanted…really!”
“I gave up diet drinks… Giving these up, for me personally has been great for me. I needed it!”
“The first morning of the challenge I realized that everything I normally eat for breakfast is a form of sugar. UGH!”
“Actually, allowing myself a few days during this month to have a treat works GREAT for me. I don’t plan on using all 9 days, but because I know I have a day here and there that I COULD have a treat if I decided to do so, makes it soooooooooooo much easier for me!”
“I am not eating the cookies and milk for my evening snack. I am drinking water instead. I have not had any sugar lows in the evening before bedtime.”
“Every time I feel a small craving for something I do not need….I say to myself…think of it as poison. It is easier to think of not putting poison in my body than to decide to not put cheese cake in my body.”
“Planning, … PRAYING – that’s what works! I try to pray every morning about the day coming up, and ask the Lord to help me… When you decide and TELL God that you are devoting your food and body to Him today, believe me, you pay A LOT more attention to what you eat and what you do during the day. I’ve just read “Made to Crave” again. That book is wonderful, and really addresses the issues we have with food. I’d recommend everyone read … Take some time to investigate your heart and see if you have a heart for food, or a heart for God. I can’t have a heart for both.”
I don’t think I could have said it any better myself. Our challengers are well on their way to a Sugar”less” September. It is not too late to join us. We have three weeks left and if you join now we’ll give you 6 treat days to use during the rest of the month. How can you pass up that offer?
Be Inspired! Be Sugar”less”!
