Move with Purpose. Pray with Purpose. πŸ’—

It is a FollowMeFit tradition to challenge ourselves during the month of October to work a little harder in honor or memory of a pink warrior in our life.

This year is no different…but it is a little more special.

After participating in these challenges for many years, Angie β€” a longtime FMF Boot Camper β€” is now living the challenge herself. She is fighting cancer, and this year we want to collectively work in her honor, while also keeping the other pink warriors who are in our hearts and on our minds close.

The American Heart Association recommends at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic activity each week, along with strength training at least twice a week and less sitting. More activity can provide additional health benefits, with 300 minutes being a higher target of extra health gains.

But here’s the thing…

150 minutes doesn’t have to be YOUR goal.

This challenge is about meeting yourself where you are, setting a goal that challenges you, and building a habit that you can actually maintain.

Maybe you’re starting from very little movement and 60–90 minutes a week is a great place to begin. Maybe you’re getting back into a routine and 90–120 minutes feels right. If you’re already exercising regularly, 150 minutes may be your goal. And if you’re ready to push yourself, you can aim for 180, 240 or even 300 minutes!

You choose the goal that is right for YOU.

Our movement can include walking, cardio, strength training, mobility, flexibility work and other intentional exercise – notice that word: intentional.

This year we’re not counting the steps you happen to accumulate throughout your normal day like we did last year. We’re setting aside time to intentionally move our bodies.

I’ve designed our tracker in 15-minute increments, with enough boxes to track up to 300 minutes each week. The 150-minute mark is highlighted as our general goal, but you get to decide where YOUR goal belongs.

We’re going to pray while we move. πŸ™πŸΌ

Set a 15-minute timer when you begin your workout. Every time that timer goes off, take a moment to pray for Angie β€” and/or another pink warrior who is on your heart.

Think of it as prayer walking…with whatever movement you’re doing.

That means every checkmark on your tracker represents more than 15 minutes of intentional movement.

It represents 15 minutes of movement AND a prayer. πŸ’—

So whether you walk, lift weights, do a Follow Me Fit workout, stretch, work on mobility or find another way to move, let’s use those minutes to strengthen our bodies while lifting someone else up in prayer.

All registered challengers will receive FREE access to the October GOfit workout videos!

And don’t overlook the SHORTS section. These workouts are only about 10–15 minutes long, making them an easy way to get some movement in when you don’t have a lot of time. For this challenge, a FollowMeFit Short counts as a 15-minute checkmark, even if the workout comes in under 15 minutes.

No excuses. No perfection required.

Just move, pray, and keep going.

Let’s make this October about more than just getting our workouts in. Let’s move with purpose, pray with purpose, and work together to lift Angie and other warriors up.

Every 15 minutes. Every checkmark. Every prayer.

πŸ’— AngieStrong!

πŸ’— Reminder: In October, We wear pink on Wednesdays!
